The Alpaca Gift Shop, and the Alpaca Learning Studio.

We are showcasing some of our classes being offered this fall. “Intro to Rigid Heddle weaving”, “The Zen of Spinning and Yarn Making”, and Felted soap making,  our teachers we be available to talk to at our Fun Farm Days on Saturday, September 28, 2024 10:00-3:00.

Fun Ranch Day 

Saturdays September 28, 2024 

Time: 10:00 – 3:00

Where: QCAR 580 Basehoar Rd. Littlestown, PA 17340

Cost:   Free to enter, some activities have a fee to participate.

What: A fun filled day of activities to participate in. Find the activity card to download. Then bring it along with you. Participate in 4/10 activities then find the basket near the gift shop to enter your activity card into a drawing to win a pair of socks, that you can choose.

Make and take –

*needle felting cookie cutter ornament  

*Grapevine nesting balls, material for birds to build their nest with

  •    * alpaca fiber felted soap 

             Demonstrations – 

*drop spindle spinning to make yarn

*Rigid Heddle to weave

                                 Walk an Alpaca

Rules to walk an alpaca

Everyone is welcome to walk an alpaca, however we have some safety rules that must be in place for all.

     1. Children 3 – 7 years of age-     Must be under supervision of a parent or grandparent and a QCAR personnel.   Children 8 years – Parents are welcome to carry the lead. 

 2.  For the best experience be calm and quiet while around the alpacas. 

  1.       3.  QCAR personnel will give you instructions on holding the lead and where to walk. 
  2.       4. Keep in mind that alpacas are very fearful of anything dangling near their legs and feet. If the lead drops the alpaca will run and the lead will get tangled in their legs and could result in injury. You break it, you buy it. 
  3.      5.  We encourage you to take pictures and QCAR personnel will help you get the best picture.
