Bred females have been exposed to a male and have been confirmed pregnant. 

In about 350 days from a successful breeding a baby will be delivered.

A baby alpaca is called a cria. In most cases, babies are born without help from a human. The cria are born in the daylight hours and birth weight is 15 -19 pounds. Within 90 minutes of birth, the cria will be standing and nursing. Weaning a cria is usually about 6-8 months. Male crias are usually weaned at 6 months and female cria at 8 months or when the mother naturally  puts a stop to nursing.

It is encouraged that owners of a bred female, be prepared for the new cria birth by reading about the process and have supplies ready.
