Can I shop online and pick up my order locally?
Yes! During online checkout, simply select “Local Pickup” instead of shipping. Your order will be prepared for pickup at our Littlestown, PA alpaca gift shop. We also ship nationwide.
What kind of alpaca products do you sell?
We offer alpaca clothing, socks, scarves, hats, stuffed animals, yarn, fleece, roving, rug yarn, fiber art tools, and home goods. Most of our products are grown, made, or processed in the USA, and some specialty items are ethically sourced from Peru, the native origin of alpacas.
What makes alpaca wool special?
Alpaca fiber is warmer than sheep’s wool, softer than cashmere, hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, and naturally odor resistant. It does not contain lanolin, making it an excellent choice for people with wool allergies or sensitive skin.
Are your alpacas’ fleece products from your own animals?
Yes — a portion of our products are made from fiber grown right here at Quarry Critters Alpaca Ranch.
We also contribute fiber to NEAFP (New England Alpaca Fiber Pool) and the Pennsylvania Yarn Project, helping support American alpaca farms and mills.
Do you offer alpaca breeding stock or alpacas for sale?
Yes — we have Huacaya alpacas for sale, including bred females, open females, males, and herdsires for hire. Contact us to discuss your goals and we’ll help match you with the right animal.
What classes do you offer?
Our Alpaca Learning Studio offers classes for all experience levels, including:
- Alpaca ownership classes (learn before you buy)
- Spinning wheel & drop spindle classes
- Fiber preparation & skirting workshops
- Rigid heddle weaving classes
Class schedules are posted online — registration is open now.
Do you sell spinning wheels or looms?
Yes — we are an official Kromski dealer. We sell spinning wheels, rigid heddle looms, and accessories both online and in-store and we perform on-site repairs and warranty support.
Is alpaca fiber good for knitting and crochet?
Absolutely. We offer raw fleece, roving, and hand-spun or mill-spun alpaca yarn in natural colors and multiple weights. Alpaca is ideal for knitting, crochet, weaving, felting and hand-spinning projects.
Do you offer gift options?
Yes — alpaca products are popular for holiday gifts, birthdays, farm souvenirs, and fiber artist supplies. Our online gift store is always open, and we offer local pickup and shipping.
