Allow about 2 hours, some of the tour is outside so dress for the weather,  might need old shoes or boots.

Cost:  Small Group (1-8 people) $8 per person

• Youth tours – 12 or more $5.00 per youth (youths are less than 15 years of age), 1 chaperone per 5 students, 1 leader per group no additional charge. 
• Private Group- larger groups or specialty, as per owner discussion

What: Here is what is included in the ranch tour. 

1. Visit alpacas with a guide

• Learn about the care and handling of alpacas. 
• Touch an alpaca  – “Oh they are so soft” 
• Take a picture with an alpaca 

2. See what happens to the fiber after it comes off the alpaca. We call this “Fiber Processing” Demonstrations include skirting, carding, spinning and more. Hands on to feel the softness of alpaca. 
3. What can you make with alpaca fiber? Visit the Gift Shop to see what alpaca fiber have made. 

The final leg of the tour is to visit the gift shop. The guide will point out different items from our farm that have been processed and ready to be sold to customers to use in their everyday lives. Lots of alpaca items make great gifts. 

Activity:  we can add a hands-on fiber craft activity that you can take home. There is an up charge for the materials and it will be instead of the demonstrations. Please advise in advance if interested in activity. Call 717-359-9989 or email juliesalpacas@gmail.com

Activity Cost: vary  per participate payable in advance with advanced notification for gather supplies. 

$8.00 activity: create a fiber filled grapevine ball for birds to build their nest.  (Suitable for ages 3 and older)

$8.00 activity: using cookie cutters to create a needle felted design (must be age 10 years old or older)

$10.00 activity: make a fiber covered soap ( handmade soap by Kalpona Fine Soaps ) Suitable for ages 8 years and older.

$10.00 activity: decorate an alpaca felted cutout  (must be 10 years old or older)
