Tools Needed for Class:

Rigid heddle loom 12” weaving width or wider.
1 x 7.5 dent heddle
1 pick up stick, longer than the width of the project (11 inches)
1 stick shuttle longer than the width of the project.
Threading hook and tapestry needle for hemstitching

Width of scarf on the loom – 11”
Length of warp- 110” (3 yards)
Length of finished project – 92” (including fringes)
84 ends (42 slots)
Fringes – Twisted (optional)

Choose your own Yarn
Warp – 222 yards of a multi-color or self-striping yarn DK
weight
Weft – 404 yards solid color fingering weight yarn

You have already been weaving at home so you know how to direct warp your loom. The details of warping your loom are here on the website. Bring your loom already warped and then you are ready to learn a new skill. 

If you need help warping your loom or need to use a class loom then please make arrangements prior to the first class, with Julie at Quarry Critters Alpaca Learning Studio – 717-359-9989, to schedule some time  between Wednesday – Saturday 10 -3 to borrow a loom, or purchase a loom and to warp the loom for this class.

Bring your loom warped and ready

Bring your own rigid heddle loom 12″ or wider with a 7.5 /8 dent heddle. Warp your loom using your choice of multi-color or self striping yarn DK weight. For this class you must know how to direct warp and bring your loom ready to weaving.   

A pick up stick or 2 should have come with your loom,

You will be using 1 pick up stick in this class

Arrangements can be made to work on a loom in class prior to the first class.  Class looms will stay at the Alpaca Learning Studio. Schedule a time to come warp your loom prior to the first day.

We are a Kromski dealer and can fix you up with your own loom and accessories, schedule a time to purchase your loom prior to class.
